What Is Availability?

What Is Availability?

Availability is the set of dates and times when someone can accept a booking after working hours, existing calendar events, notice rules, and other scheduling constraints are applied.

A person may work from 09:00 to 17:00 but only show 10:00–12:00 and 14:00–16:00 after busy calendar events and buffers are considered.

Why It Matters

Accurate availability prevents conflicts while letting invitees choose only times that can actually be accepted.

How It Works

The organiser configures the rule as part of the booking workflow. It is combined with working hours, calendar commitments, and other constraints before times are shown.

  • The organiser defines the relevant rule or limit.
  • The scheduler applies it while calculating bookable times.
  • The invitee sees only options that remain eligible.

Common Mistake

Publishing broad working hours without accounting for connected calendars, buffers, travel, or personal commitments.

Review the surrounding booking flow and make the expectation clear to both hosts and invitees.
