Google Meet

Use Google Meet as a booking link’s video location to create a new conference URL for each confirmed booking. Meet uses the same Google authorization as Google Calendar, so there is no separate Meet sign-in.

Before You Begin

You need:

  • A connected Google Calendar integration.
  • A Google account that can create Google Meet conferences.
  • Permission to edit the booking link.

Google Meet is unavailable as a location until Google Calendar is connected.

Connect the Google Account

  1. Open a booking link in Dlopo.
  2. Open Integrations.
  3. Select Google Meet or Google Calendar.
  4. Click Connect Google or Connect Google Calendar.
  5. Choose the Google account you want to use.
  6. Review and approve Google’s requested access.
  7. Return to Dlopo.

Google Meet then displays as connected through the shared Google Calendar authorization. You do not need to complete another OAuth flow for Meet.

Select Google Meet as the Location

  1. Open the booking link’s settings.
  2. Go to Location.
  3. Select Google Meet.
  4. Check the read-only Google Account field to confirm which account will create the conference.
  5. Save the booking link.

Dlopo explains that meeting details are added automatically. The location also states that a new Google Meet link will be created for each confirmed booking.

How Meeting-Link Generation Works

When a guest completes an eligible booking, Dlopo asks Google Calendar to create an event on the connected account’s primary calendar and request a Google Meet conference. Google returns the conference URL, and Dlopo saves it on the booking.

Each confirmed booking receives its own Meet URL. Dlopo does not reuse one permanent room.

Meet generation runs for confirmed self-scheduled bookings, fixed-time bookings, and “going” RSVP bookings. Bookings that are still awaiting payment, approval, or another confirmation step do not receive a Meet link at that stage.

If Google Calendar cannot create the event or does not return a Meet URL, Dlopo removes the attempted booking and shows the guest an error. This prevents a confirmed Meet booking from being created without its meeting link.

Where Hosts and Guests Find the Link

After a successful booking, the Meet URL is stored as the booking’s location. It appears in:

  • The host’s booking details in Dlopo.
  • Booking confirmation email details sent to the host.
  • Booking confirmation email details sent to the guest.
  • The Google Calendar event created for the booking.
  • The guest’s booking confirmation experience when booking details are shown.

Hosts can open the URL from the booking detail view. Guests can use the linked location in their confirmation.

How Google Meet and Google Calendar Work Together

Google Calendar provides the authorization and creates the event that carries the Meet conference. Disconnecting Google Calendar therefore makes Google Meet unavailable too.

The current integration writes the event to the connected account’s primary calendar. Dlopo does not currently offer a calendar selector or read Google busy events for availability conflict checking. Availability still comes from the Dlopo schedule, booking rules, and existing Dlopo bookings.

Fix a Missing Meet Link

If Google Meet is disabled in Location, connect Google Calendar first.

If a guest receives an error while booking:

  1. Open Integrations on the booking link.
  2. Select Google Calendar.
  3. Click Reconnect.
  4. Choose the intended Google account and approve access again.
  5. Return to Location and confirm that Google Meet is selected.
  6. Save the booking link.
  7. Complete a test booking.

If the problem continues, confirm that the connected Google account is allowed to create Calendar events and Meet conferences. Workspace administrators can restrict these Google features.

Disconnect or Change the Google Account

To stop using Meet, choose another option under Location and save the booking link.

To remove Google access completely, open Integrations, remove Google Calendar, and confirm Disconnect. This also disconnects Meet. Existing Google Calendar events and Meet URLs are not deleted automatically.

To change accounts, use Reconnect under Google Calendar and approve the replacement account. Then verify the Google Account shown under the booking link’s Google Meet location.
