Slack

Connect Slack to post booking activity in a channel your team already follows. Dlopo sends updates when a booking is created, rescheduled, or cancelled, and a Slack delivery failure does not interrupt the booking flow.

Before You Begin

You need:

  • a Slack workspace;
  • permission to install or approve the Dlopo Slack app;
  • a public channel, or a private channel that the Dlopo app has joined.

Dlopo requests these Slack permissions:

  • post messages as the Dlopo app;
  • post to public channels;
  • view basic information about public channels;
  • view basic information about private channels the app has joined.

Dlopo does not request permission to read channel messages.

Connect Slack

  1. Open Integrations.
  2. Find Slack under All or Automation.
  3. Open Slack and select Connect.
  4. Choose the Slack workspace you want to connect.
  5. Review and approve Slack’s permission request. A workspace administrator may need to approve the app.
  6. Return to Dlopo and confirm that Slack shows Connected.

After connecting, open Slack in Integrations to choose where notifications should go.

Choose a Channel

  1. Open the connected Slack integration.
  2. Under Channel, select a channel.
  3. Select Save Changes.

Dlopo confirms that notifications will be sent to the selected channel. New booking activity will be posted there.

Public channels appear in the list automatically. To use a private channel, first invite the Dlopo app to that channel in Slack. Private channels the app has not joined do not appear.

Changing the channel affects future notifications only. Messages already posted to the previous channel stay there.

What Dlopo Sends to Slack

A Slack notification includes:

  • the booking-link title;
  • the booking time;
  • the guest’s name and email address;
  • the host’s name or email address;
  • the current booking status;
  • the meeting type or join link, when available;
  • a View booking button that opens the booking in Dlopo.

Dlopo does not include guest notes or answers to custom booking questions.

A newly confirmed booking posts New booking. A reschedule posts Booking rescheduled with the revised time. A cancellation by the host or guest posts Booking cancelled.

Dlopo saves the booking change before queuing the Slack notification. The guest’s booking, reschedule, or cancellation is therefore not delayed or reversed when Slack is unavailable.

Review Recent Notifications

Open Slack in Integrations to see Recent Notifications. Dlopo shows the five most recent delivery attempts. Each entry identifies the booking event, destination channel, delivery status, and an error when delivery failed.

Dlopo retries temporary Slack, rate-limit, and network failures. It uses the same event identifier for each attempt so a retry does not intentionally create another message for the same queued event. If delivery still fails, the entry shows failed, and Slack needs attention displays the provider error.

If Slack reports invalid, inactive, or revoked authorization, Dlopo marks the integration as disconnected. Reconnect Slack before expecting more notifications.

Privacy and Channel Access

Slack notifications contain booking information, including the guest’s identity, meeting time, status, and a meeting location or join URL. Choose a channel whose members are allowed to see that information.

For sensitive bookings, use a restricted private channel and invite only the people who need access. Removing someone from Dlopo does not remove Slack messages they could already access. Disconnecting Slack also does not delete messages already posted in Slack.

Reconnect or Disconnect Slack

Select Edit to run Slack authorization again. Use this to change workspaces or recover from expired or revoked access. After reconnecting, review the selected channel before relying on new notifications.

To disconnect Slack:

  1. Open Integrations.
  2. Open Slack.
  3. Select Disconnect Slack, shown as the trash icon.
  4. In the confirmation dialog, select Disconnect.

Dlopo removes the saved Slack authorization and channel selection. Existing Slack messages and Dlopo booking history remain unchanged.

If Slack Notifications Are Missing

Work through these checks:

  1. Confirm that Slack shows Connected in Integrations.
  2. Open Slack and make sure a Channel is selected.
  3. If the channel is private, invite the Dlopo app to it, reopen the integration, select the channel, and select Save Changes.
  4. Review Recent Notifications and Slack needs attention for a channel, permission, authorization, rate-limit, or provider error.
  5. If Slack access was revoked or expired, select Edit and approve the requested permissions again.
  6. If your workspace restricts app installation, ask a Slack administrator to approve the Dlopo app.
  7. Make a test booking and confirm that the message appears in the selected channel.

Dlopo retries temporary rate limits and provider failures automatically. If a notification remains failed after Slack has recovered, create a new test booking to verify the connection and channel configuration.
