What Is Lead Time?
Lead time is the amount of advance time between making a booking and the appointment starting.
With a four-hour lead time, an invitee cannot reserve a meeting that begins in the next four hours.
Why It Matters
Lead time gives hosts enough time to notice, prepare, travel, or arrange the people and resources involved.
How It Works
The organiser configures the rule as part of the booking workflow. It is combined with working hours, calendar commitments, and other constraints before times are shown.
- The organiser defines the relevant rule or limit.
- The scheduler applies it while calculating bookable times.
- The invitee sees only options that remain eligible.
Common Mistake
Using the same lead time for a short online call and an appointment requiring travel or substantial preparation.
Review the surrounding booking flow and make the expectation clear to both hosts and invitees.
